Deacon Tom Murray

Deacon Tom Murray

Chose to leave Boots after 28years service with nothing to move on to – a leap of faith or a mid-life crisis reaction? My only thought was to work in an area that ‘made a contribution to the society in which I live’.

Little did I realise that it would lead me into church ministry!

In hindsight I have realised that God was at the centre of all that was happening to me and he has brought me to where I am to serve Him in my new-found ministry.

I was given a few years ago a tee-shirt with the words ‘Relax, God is in control’ and the quotation ‘Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding’ (Proverbs 3: 5)  How true!

Love sport especially cricket, football and rugby – all armchair activities nowadays.

Enjoy working on my allotment where in the peace and quiet surroundings and working with the soil of the earth I feel God’s presence.
