I grew up on a farm in Lyminster, just outside of Arundel. I went to school in Rustington and Chichester and then trained as a Personal Assistant, working for 4 years in 2 medical companies.
During this time I married and we changed our career paths to train at All Nations Christian College. Once graduated we become missionaries in Niger Republic, West Africa and served with SIM UK (Serving In Mission) in Maradi, Niger Republic from 1989 – 1995. Our role was to provide literacy education to Fulani Nomads and to support rural development projects. Our 4 children thoroughly enjoyed their lives in Africa.
Since returning to West Sussex in 1995 I worked at Dalesdown (Christian Conference Centre) for a few years helping in the office and then worked with ‘Splash for schools & communities’ for 10 years as a Children’s Worker and Project Coordinator.
In 2007 I was seconded to work with the Storrington & Sullington Community Partnership for two years running a Community Hub in Storrington. I then worked for 6 months with the Central Sussex CAB on an older person’s project and finally joined Horsham Matters in November 2010. My role here is to oversee youth services such as the Advocacy service and Horsham Children Can Do grant scheme.
I am an active member of Washington Church of England, am a Splash Trustee and Community Governor at Storrington First School.
