Horsham Matters Grant received £2,228.00

We have been able to renew kitchen equipment for our Stroke Club in Horsham.

We have volunteers cooking healthy home cooked meals for our members three days a week (different people each day). The new equipment has enabled us to produce a wider range of meals as the storage, preparation and serving is fit for purpose and it is easier to maintain high standards of hygiene.

Our members are elderly and disabled, most of them either live alone or are cared for by  husbands or wives, often themselves elderly and not in the best of health – cooking for themselves is not an option. They come to  depend on frozen ready meals or 'meals-on-wheels'. Being able to come to the Phoenix Stroke club and enjoy activities, entertainment and a well cooked, fresh and healthy meal is quite often the high-light of the week. With much thanks to Horsham Matters for the donation we are able to continue to provide this very special and unique service.

Many Thanks
